First International Conference on Problems of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering launched

On April 17, the opening ceremony of the First International Conference on Problems of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering dedicated to the 90th Anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held at Gulustan Palace. The scientists and heads of petrochemical production field from leading scientific and educational centers specialized in the petrochemical and chemical engineering spheres from various countries including the USA, Canada, Russia, UK, Germany, Turkey, Georgia, as well as representatives of Petkim Petrokimya Holding, Azerbaijan State Oil Academy, Institute of Petrochemical Processes, Baku Higher Oil School, Qafqaz University, Baku State University, Turkish Ataturk and Yildiz Technical Universities, and bp-Azerbaijan attended the event held with the organization and support by SOCAR and Qafqaz University.

The International Conference will cover the discussions on future development of the petrochemical industry, implementation of new projects, the study and application of advanced chemical technologies. Speeches and lectures on theoretical and practical issues in petrochemistry, topical problems of physical and analytical chemistry, modern scientific research in the field of chemistry, environmental friendly, harmless and advanced chemicals technology, and on other topical issues, as well as discussions will be also organized.

The opening ceremony was also attended by MPs, scientists, heads of social organizations, and conference guests. SOCAR first vice president, academician Khoshbakht Yusifzade and Minister of Education Misir Mardanov delivered a speech at the Conference.

The Conference will continue on April 18th-20th at Qafqaz University and Azerikimya PU and Azerbaijan State Oil Academy.
